According to the Veterans Administration, 30 percent of veterans who have returned from the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan suffer from combat-related post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Overall there are 10.6 million veterans living with combat-related PTSD. Sacramento-native Kevin Cameron was one of these veterans, which is how he came to found a Sacramento nonprofit organization that provides service animals to vets with PTSD. Cameron joins us to explain the mission of Alpha K9, and how it helps veterans by pairing them with trained service dogs.
