On Sept. 19, Maestro Christian Baldini conducts the opening of a new season of the Camellia Symphony, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Danish composer Carl Nielsen. Since late last year, he’s been guest-conducting the San Francisco Symphony and conducts a new Mozart recording that’s getting great reviews (
Mozart Opera Arias & Overtures). We get a preview of some of the music on his busy calendar.
"Mozart has been my first love since childhood," Baldini said during the interview. "When I started as a little kid playing the piano I was obssessed with Mozart, there was no other composer that I wanted to spend my time with. It continues to be a main part of what I love doing."
