Have you ever heard of an Art Salon? They were commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements and they were usually a gathering held to refine and increase the knowledge of participants through exhibition of various arts forms and conversation. The Retrograde Collective, an art group in Sacramento, will present its first Art Salon this weekend the Sacramento Poetry Center.
Arielle Robbins is the co-founder of Retrograde Collective and an artist and writer, and Andrew Kehoe is a member of the collective, as well as a writer. The two talks with Insight about how the group started and why they're presenting this first-edition Art Salon.
