For decades, Celebration Arts was the only theatre company in town dedicated to performing plays specifically about the African American experience. The company recently announced the owner of their building will not renew the lease and now they’re without a home.
Prior to last night’s city council meeting, Founder and Artistic Director James Wheatley kicked off the Capitol Campaign to raise $100,000 and buy the old B Street Theatre building. Wheatley joins Celebration Arts Actor Alana Matthews to explain.
