Gail Spelis co-wrote a book "Proud Pilot: A True Story Of Family, Wartime and Survival Against The Odds" with her father Lt. Col. Robert J. McMurry (USAF Retired).
The book tells the story of her father as a pilot in WWII for the US Air Force. He logged 33,000 hours in the air with 24 years of service for the Air Force and 16 years as a civilian pilot.
