On July 12, the jazz world lost one of its most prolific executives, Joe Fields. As founder of Muse Records in 1973 and High Note in 1997, Joe and his son Barney recorded some of the greatest names in contemporary jazz, including Woody Shaw, Cedar Walton, and Charles Earland.
