It is the first day of winter and there is 60 percent containment on the Thomas Fire in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties in southern California. The fire has burned more than 270,000 acres, destroyed more than 1,000 structures and resulted in two deaths.
Meanwhile, recovery efforts continue from the Northern California fires in October. Besides the state a federal disaster assistance, the North Bay Fire Relief Fund has provided support. The fund was created by RCU Community Fund, Inc. in partnership with Redwood Credit Union, The Santa Rosa Press Democrat and Senator Mike McGuire.
RCU's Robin McKenzie joins Insight to discuss the fund and the recovery effort.
