Insects have long inspired creative artwork, design, fashion and engineering for communities across the globe. From silkworms use in cloth in ancient Chinese culture to termite inspired ventilation systems in sub-Saharan Africa, insects have been at the foundation for much of the design we see throughout human history.
A new exhibit opening at the UC Davis Design Museum pays tribute to the critical role of insects relationship with humans in a diverse collection of art works and design pieces. Director of the UC Davis Design Museum Tim McNeil explains.
