Two UC Davis emergency medicine doctors have launched a new podcast called "EM Pulse" covering a variety of contemporary issues facing medical professionals. They bring research and expert opinions on topics like identifying human trafficking, treating children exposed to THC, and the opiod epidemic. EM Pulse hosts Dr. Sarah Medeiros and Dr. Julia Magana join Insight to discuss the show and preview a new episode. Episode 2: Sold for a Chrysler 300 is live (see link in bio) Our second episode is a special one. In light of January being Human Trafficking Awareness month, we interview survivor and advocate, Annika Huff (formerly Annika Mack). Her story is brutal but real, and none of her doctors suspected she was being trafficked. We then talk with experts, Drs. Bryn Mumma and Rachel Robitz, about how we can identify and help potential trafficking victims who come to our EDs as patients. We invite you to listen and subscribe, and please send us your questions and feedback. . @ucdavisem @ucdavishealth @weaveinc #humantrafficking #humantraffickingawareness #emergencymedicine #familymedicine #psychiatry #socialwork #pediatrics #PEM #adolescentmedicine #resident #medstudent #premed #ernurse #nursepractitioner #physicianassistant #humantraffickingawarenessmonth #WEAVEsacramento #womeninmedicine #womenpodcasters A post shared by EM Pulse (@empulsepodcast) on Jan 30, 2018 at 10:39pm PST
