Six gubernatorial candidates took the stage for a debate in San Jose Tuesday night, each hoping to survive the June 5 primary.

Republicans Travis Allen and John Cox joined Democrats John Chiang, Delaine Eastin, Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villaraigosa on stage to discuss housing, immigration, eduation, the gas tax and how their character could play a role in the election.
