The movie was a hit in 1951, but that doesn’t necessarily mean theater audiences would still love it in the early 2000s. But that’s exactly what happened when the revival of “An American in Paris” opened in 2014.

Met with glowing reviews for its lavish stage design and modernly elegant ballet sequences, “An American in Paris” went on to win four Tony Awards. The National Tour of the dance-based romance is playing as part of Broadway Sacramento at the Community Center Theater in Sacramento through Sunday, May 27.
