Davis musician Lillian Frances stopped by Capital Public Radio for an in-studio performance and interview. She was one of more than 700 contestants in this year's NPR Tiny Desk Contest.Andrew Nixon / Capital Public Radio Upon a revelation at a Sylvan Esso concert, Davis songwriter Lillian Frances set to work making music. Her early days making folky guitar tracks came to a halt after she got tendonitis harvesting girthy vegetables (read: butternut squash). Frances came to CapRadio to talk about her post-squash music, where her samples come from and how being fluent in Spanish doens't mean you're understood BY the Spanish. She will headline the first-ever Tiny Desk Sacramento concert, hosted by Hey, Listen! host Nick Brunner at the CapRadio Garden this Saturday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are free, but we ask that you RSVP.
