Spoken-Word Poet From Stockton Going On Global Tour

Stockton’s Brandon Leake is taking his tour across the country and around the world during the next 18 months.

A Stockton spoken-word poet is about to embark on a global tour in support of his latest album, “Deficiencies: A Tale From My Dark Side.” Brandon Leake will travel as far as New Zealand during the next 18 months to share his poetry, with his first stop in Sacramento Thursday night (Aug. 30).

Leake joins Insight Host Beth Ruyak in studio to talk about his art and share some of his poetry.

“Deficiencies: A Tale From My Dark Side” is available on streaming sites, and physical copies can be purchased at Leake’s events.

Leake performs Thursday night at SoFarSacramento and then Sept. 3 at Black Family Day in Stockton. He heads north to Humboldt County Sept. 4. He’s back in Sacramento on Oct. 4 at Luna’s Cafe and in Placerville on Oct. 5. There are more dates in Stockton, Modesto, Fresno and Redding throughout the months of November and December.
