On Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Apothic Heart Tattoo Collective, two dozen Sacramento area artists will donate close to 100 paintings in an effort to raise college scholarship money for HIV positive students. The fundraiser, Art From The Heart, is presented by Capital City AIDS Fund, with 100% of the proceeds designated to their Helen Veress-Mitchell Scholarship Fund, which was launched in 2002. To date, CCAF has raised and awarded more than $200,000 to help young HIV positive students attend college.
This fundraising effort is spearheaded by CCAF President, Joyce Mitchell, who herself is donating 35 of her own paintings.
