California lawmakers reported to their first day of work at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Monday. Many of those newcomers are Democrats, and more are women than ever before.

CapRadio’s Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler was there as they began the work of governing and he explains what happened on the first day.
