The Sacramento Jazz Education Foundation is hosting the 14th annual Teagarden Jazz Festival this weekend. The festival gives young musicians an opportunity to get feedback from all-star musicians.
This year’s featured guest is cornet player and bandleader Jim Cullum, known for his time with Riverwalk Jazz. Joining Insight to preview the festival are Cullum and Sacramento Jass Education Foundation Executive Director Patti Jones. Cullum also serves on the board of directors for the San Francisco Traditional Jazz Foundation Collection at Stanford University, which aims to preserve the history and sounds of Bay Area jazz.
The Teagarden Jazz Festival features performances over three days at three venues:
- Friday — Rio Americano High School Performing Arts Center
- Saturday — Sac State — Capistrano Hall
- Sunday — Elks Lodge #6
