The town of Paradise and areas nearby were devastated by the Camp Fire that started on Nov. 8, 2018 in Butte County.Andrew Nixon / Capital Public Radio The community of Paradise is still working on recovery efforts after the Camp Fire last fall. A number of challenges face the residents who are trying to rebuild their lives after the disaster. The principal of the local high school announced plans this week to resign at the end of the school year because he could not find housing. The Paradise Community Guilds continues to host weekly meetings for survivors and neighbors to connect and share information. A local taco trailer is back on the streets, feeding hungry residents. Residents are still weighing the cost of insurance before rebuilding. Mayor Jody Jones joins Insight to talk about the challenges and progress facing her community as it strives to rebuild.
