Now in its third year, the Sierra Poetry Festival returns to Grass Valley with a lineup of readings, workshops, speakers and more on Saturday, April 27. Organized by Nevada County Arts Council, the theme of this year’s festival is “Breath and Shadow, breath indicating the ebb and flow of nature and the seasons, and shadow being symbolic of our ephemeral existence and self-reflection.”
The Festival will include insights from a variety of poets, including keynote speaker and 2019 Pulitzer Prize Winner Forrest Gander of Petaluma. Gander discusses his works and background over the phone, as Sierra Poetry Festival Executive Director Eliza Tudor joins us in the studio to discuss the festival’s highlights.
The Sierra Poetry Festival will be held at Sierra College in Grass Valley on Saturday April 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Keynote Address by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Forrest Gander starts at 9:20 a.m.
