Poets of every stripe grace the Sacramento literary scene, and this week Insight is featuring the Tough Old Broads.
The small group of acclaimed poets will bring their work to the stage this weekend. Their latest collection, “Tough Enough: Poems From The Tough Old Broads,” published by Cold River Press, features pieces by four writers — Victoria Dalkey, Kathryn Hohlwein, Viola Weinberg and Annie Menenbroker, who died in 2016.
You can see the Tough Old Broads read from their collection at Harlow’s on Sunday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to make a donation to the East Sac Baby Boomers to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Ride Share Program. That program connects cancer patients to volunteers who then transport them to treatments.
Poets Victoria Dalkey and Kathryn Hohlwein join Insight to discuss the new collection and preview the event.
