One big surprise: she loves heavy metal music.  

CapRadio’s new midday classical host is no stranger to Sacramento audiences. Jennifer Reason got her degree in piano performance from Sacramento State, and she has busy performing career. She tours internationally, directs vocal ensembles, plays concertos, trios and solo piano.

Even though she comes from a musical family, Reason didn’t always have a future in music. In fact, she hated practicing piano as a child. In addition to music, Reason’s family is really into martial arts and she has a Black Belt in Taekwondo.

But, Reason’s mentor had a message when she came one too many times to a lesson with bloody knuckles: you have to choose. So, Reason chose piano.

When she’s not playing the piano or hosting her program on CapRadio, Reason likes to spend time outdoors and has a love of hiking.
