San Francisco was the site of this past weekend’s state Democratic Convention. Fourteen of the twenty-three candidates running for president were at the Moscone Center and spoke. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also addressed the crowd.
During the convention, there was also an election for state party chair. This election was necessitated by the resignation of former Chair Eric Bauman last November amid allegations of sexual harassment. The new State Party Chair is Rusty Hicks, president of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.
California often leads the nation in many areas and, with the state’s primary moving to March, it seems, the stakes may be even higher for this state’s delegates. CapRadio’s Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler and State Government Reporter Scott Rodd join Insight host Randol White to recap the weekend.
