In this monthly installment of the Political Junkie podcast, Insight host Beth Ruyak and Political Junkie Ken Rudin talk about the recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas.

And a note: they talked on Monday morning, August 5, just after President Donald Trump had addressed the nation, and before the death toll in the El Paso mass shooting — at a busy Walmart — had ticked up. That death toll now stands at at least 22, from Saturday morning’s massacre. In addition, at least nine people were gunned down in a shooting in a popular nightlife area in Dayton early Sunday morning.

The other main topic of this month’s podcast is the recent 2020 Democratic candidate debates, which took place last week in Detroit.
