Rituals of Mine songwriter Terra Lopez returns to Insight with music from a deeply personal record to follow up the 2016 release, “Devoted.”
Lopez has been working on the music for “SLEEPER HOLD” for more than three years. Songwriting became the engine for processing two lifechanging events from 2016. For the release of “HEAVYWEIGHT” in September, Lopez explained on Instagram that, “It’s the first song I’ve written about my grieving process after losing my father to suicide & my best friend only six months later in an accident. This song is for anyone who has had to learn how to carry their grief.”
Rituals of Mine will release “SLEEPER HOLD” on Carpark Records on Friday, Oct. 4 on vinyl and digital streaming services everywhere.
You can see Rituals of Mine perform with The Seshen at Harlow’s in Sacramento on Saturday Oct. 5 or at The New Parish in Oakland on Sunday, Oct. 13. For a complete list of Rituals of Mine shows, check out their events page or tour dates page.
