Over the next two weekends, students at El Dorado High School in Placerville will perform "The Laramie Project," a play that confronts the destructive power of bullying and hate in all forms. It is based on interviews, over a one year period, after the murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepherd in Laramie, Wyoming.
The play is presented by Studio 81, which is home to El Dorado High School’s Award Winning Drama Department. Chaired by Paul Tomei, Studio 81 produces plays and theatre events that are student driven and provide a wide variety of culturally diverse performances.
Tomei will join Insight, along with student Dylan Holy, who will perform an excerpt of one of his monologues in the play.
You can find tickets to the play, performed on Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m., here.
