A B Street Theatre holiday tradition is playing out at The Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for the Arts for the first time.
For 25 years, B Street Theatre’s Artistic Director Buck Busfield has written an original holiday play for Sacramento-area audiences. In keeping with this tradition, his comedy "On An Open Fire" opens this weekend.
The show is set in a small town where Dan is running for election as the drain commissioner with his sister-in-law as his overqualified campaign manager. At the same time, Dan and his wife Kellie are contemplating whether their son, Max, is old enough to learn the truth about Santa Claus. Things get tense for the whole town when Liz takes it upon herself to break the news to Max and one by one children stop believing.
On An Open Fire premiered Wednesday at B Street Theatre and will run Tuesday through Sunday, through December 29. Tickets are available here.
