The Sacramento Running Association (SRA) will host this Sunday’s annual California International Marathon. According to the SRA, this marathon is Sacramento's largest sporting event, featuring 20,000 participants, 60,000 spectators and 4,500 staff and volunteers.
The SRA also spends $2 million annually to facilitate the sport of running in the Sacramento area. This includes youth programs, running in schools, at the professional level and at community events and programs.
Scott Abbott, the Executive Director of the Sacramento Running Association, will describe this weekend’s event and the SRA’s other activities.
