Jon Bafus is a Sacramento singer-songwriter with a story to tell. He has been hospitalized, and, at times, fighting for his life. Bafus has a rare autoimmune blood disorder, which he has had transfusions and surgery to try to treat. In a Facebook post on Dec. 7, he wrote: “I’M NOT FINE. Far from it. No treatment that I have received has worked.”
This year, Bafus’s band, Gentleman Surfer, toured in Japan and released a new EP. But late this year, his health crisis sent Bafus back into the studio. He’s recorded a new long form, solo piece called "Inflammation Superhighway." Now, his health and his music have converged in an urgent way.
