Courtesy of Wiley-Blackwell Dr. Johanna Neuman’s new book, “And Yet They Persisted: How American Women Won The Right To Vote,” traces the history of women’s suffrage over two centuries. It expands the understanding of how long this reform took and it restores African American women to the suffrage narrative. An earlier book, "Gilded Suffragists: The New York Socialites Who Fought for Women’s Right to Vote," documents the role of the celebrity endorsement in galvanizing social change. You can hear Neuman discuss the book with Beth Ruyak at Sacramento State on Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. You can find more information on the event here. Guests Dr. Johanna Neuman
