California is at the center of the 14 states voting Super Tuesday.
The state will award the most delegates of any state in the country. But the California primary also comes amid changes aimed at increased voter participation, including vote centers, voting equipment, and expanded same-day voter registration.
Meanwhile, the field vying for the democratic nomination in 2020 continues to shrink after a pair of leading candidates withdrew ahead of Super Tuesday.
Former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar dropped out of the race over the weekend. Both have formally endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden, who hopes to ride the burst of momentum to a solid result on the biggest primary day.
