Businesses in California could start opening by the end of this week, but social distancing and sanitation protocols are still likely to stay in place.
Those safety protocols are expected to remain until testing, contact tracing and a vaccine become widely available throughout the state. Restaurants and retail are likely to reopen within weeks, while businesses with close contact and larger crowds, such as bars, gyms and movie theaters, will potentially need to wait months.
We check in with the Sacramento County Health Services Director about plans for reopening and other safety protocols.
