Responses to COVID-19 are varying country to country and have shined a spotlight on how people are being treated amidst the crisis. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has already said the coronavirus could give some countries an excuse to adopt unnecessary repressive measures.
Guterres and other officials believe that the pandemic risks becoming a human rights crisis, if it hasn’t already in certain areas of the world.
