Many businesses in Sacramento were damaged and ransacked during protests sparked by the death of George Floyd.
Protesters in Midtown and Downtown broke into various businesses, including Macy's, Kicx Unlimited, Sharif Jewelers and BevMo. Owners have since boarded up their shops, leading to a new initiative designed to reface those plywood sheets and broken storefronts with murals and other artwork.
