The Sacramento City Council and Mayor Darrell Steinberg addressed a number of proposals Tuesday night in a virtual meeting all aimed at reforming the city’s policing.
The group covered the 911 response system, the addition of an inspector general, department oversight, among other things. Outside City Hall, dozens of people rallied through the local Black Lives Matter chapter to make their opinions known, including the request that city officials start holding in-person meetings so organizers and activists can better make their voices heard.
Today we check in on the city’s policing reform proposals and what happened Tuesday night at City Hall.
