At a time when public trust in media is at an all-time low, news organizations across the U.S. are piloting new ways to engage with diverse audiences. And as newsrooms experiment with community engagement, they are trying to understand the value of this work.

It shows how a news organization can partner with community members and community-based organizations to develop content that is deeply reported, informative and impactful. It also demonstrates how journalists can help surface community level solutions to pressing civic issues.
