A research firm says buyers purchased 1,378 Sacramento County houses and condos in January as the median price hit $270,000. CoreLogic says the number of properties sold was up nine percent from a year ago.

A report out today says there were 2,088 new pending homes sales in the four-county Sacramento area in January. Research firm Trendgraphix says that was 36 percent higher than December.

RealtyTrac: Bank Repos Up 26 Percent Year To Date

Data released today show 2,567 California homes were repossessed by banks in November. Research firm RealtyTrac says that was an increase of 26 percent compared to a year ago. Analysts say banks continue to work through the backlog of foreclosures.
