Sacramento, CA
If you followed some of the talk about that new 3-feet law, and about the idea of cars and bikes sharing the roads, and the sidewalks, you know this is a pretty emotional subject for lots of people.
So we thought we’d try today to get beyond the emotions, and the simple debate points, and talk about: what the rules are, what the points of conflict are, and what might be some solutions. If we come up with anything good, we’ll send a link to transportation authorities.
To help with that, we have Hilary Abramson, a longtime journalist in Sacramento, who was hit and badly injured by a bicyclist on the sidewalk outside her Midtown apartment. She’s done lots of research and written and spoken about the subject.
And we have Jim Brown, the executive director of the Sacramento Area Biycle Advocates, who has a long reputation for being a reasonable kind of advocate.
