Sacramento, CA
In September, we spoke with the founder of Sacramento-based Raise Your Hand Foundation, which provides university and trade scholarships for young people in Liberia. In response to the great need for medical equipment to combat an outbreak of ebola in the country, the foundation was raising money and collecting supplies for health care workers on the frontlines. We spoke with Shelley Spurlock about the crisis. She joins us today to update us on the foundation’s efforts and how Liberians are doing now.

Sheku Gbollie lost his entire family to Ebola. RYHF searched and located him from a Liberian newspaper story and he is now a part of the RYHF Family with a full college scholarship, living expenses, emotional support, and hope. |
