Sacramento, CA
New York Times best-selling author Lisa See is returning to Sacramento with her latest novel, “China Dolls.” The book is set in the “Chop Suey Circuit” of San Francisco in the 1930s when Chinese nightclubs were all the rage. We’ll talk with See about why Chinese-American nightclubs and performers flourished from the 1930s to 1960s and how they came to be largely left out of America’s entertainment history.
