Sacramento, CA
A new play opening this Friday night at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento is remarkably timely. The storyline of “The Chisera” involves the battle for water rights in California, and it’s a story that took place one hundred years ago in the Owens Valley. Playwright Paula Cizmar joins us to talk about the parallels between her play and today. Plus, we’ll meet the director and the actress that plays Mary Hunter Austin, the real-life California nature writer who tried to save the Owens Valley.
