Sacramento, CA
Hunger is a very real issue in the Sacramento valley and it affects more than 245,000 households, which includes 88,000 children. There are many organizations and people working to solve this issue in our region and they've experienced renewed interest in the last year. To capitalize on a new sense of unity and purpose, the Sacramento Hunger Coalition is hosting Hunger Awareness Week through Friday, May 15th with a variety of activities. Today on Insight, we'll find out more about the mission of the Hunger Coalition and what they face in combating hunger in the community. Dawn Dunlap with the Sacramento Natural Food Co-op Education Department and Eileen Thomas of the River City Food Bank join us in studio.
