Summer Movies Monday, June 1, 2015 | Sacramento, CA Listen / download audio Update RequiredTo play audio, update browser or Flash plugin. markhillary / Flickr You might get a sense of déjà vu if you step into a movie theater this summer. It appears movie studios are betting they can draw crowds by releasing new films from old franchises like Mad Max, Jurassic Park and the National Lampoon’s Vacation series. There are also a slew of sequels, prequels and reboots. But that’s not to say there aren’t a few films trading explosions for old fashioned drama. The double-Sundance winner “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” and the Meryl Streep’s latest film “Ricki and the Flash” are sure to get their share of box office sales. To help guide you through this cornucopia of summer movies are film reviewers Derrick Bang with the Davis Enterprise and Daniel Barnes with the Sacramento News & Review.
