Hampsey is an English Professor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and the author of more than thirty published stories and essays. His memoir, "Kaufman's Hill" takes us to a time just before the impact of the counter-culture movement and a place where the suburbs were a new frontier. This is Hampsey's boyhood outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the early 1960's, described as "touching, sensitive and spell-binding."
