Sacramento, CA
After more than 23 years off the air, KZAP is blasting back across Sacramento’s radio waves this Saturday. The original “free-form” radio station was known from 1969 to 1992 for broadcasting some of the area’s greatest rock hits. On July 4, at 9:33 a.m., some of KZAP’s original radio veterans will be returning to the disk jockey chair for the launch of K-ZAP, 93.3 FM, which will be streaming at K-ZAP.org. Dennis Newhall is one of KZAP's original DJs who was instrumental in the rebirth of K-ZAP. He joins us to talk about what has changed, and what is staying the same.
