This year, Juan Felipe Herrera was chosen to be the new U.S. Poet Laureate. He is the first Latino to be chosen for the job by the Library of Congress. He grew up in a small Central Valley town called Fowler, with about 5,000 residents, and is the son of migrant farm workers. He also served as California's Poet Laureate. Herrera speaks to Insight from Valley Public Radio.
