Sacramento, CA
The ridesharing company Uber signed an agreement with the airport that allows drivers to pickup and drop off passengers at its terminals, starting Tuesday at 1 p.m. Part-time Uber driver Andrew Kanelos picked up the first fare from the airport at 1:02 p.m. He says he's planning to quit his other job and work full-time for Uber now that he can collect fares from the airport.
Capital Public Radio's James Morrison caught a ride with Andrew from Terminal A yesterday and recorded an interview with him. Andrew started the conversation by explaining how a "geofence" had stopped Uber users from requesting a driver pick them up the airport before Tuesday's agreement.
