Tom Gjelten’s recent reports on the people and families who immigrated to the U.S. as part of the coverage of the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act. He has a new book out called “A Nation of Nations: A Great American Immigration Story” that looks at the changes to America that came from that Act, and he tells the complex and surprising stories of five families in one Virginia county.
