Sacramento, CA
The World Health Organization announced on Monday that it has classified red meat and processed as "probably carcinogenic to humans." This association was observed mainly for colorectal cancer, but associations were also seen for pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. Even before this classification was announced, a growing number of physicians in California have been encouraging people to adopt a plant-based lifestyle, and eat less red and processed meats. Joining Insight to talk more about the health problems associated with red meat and processed meats is Andrew Klonecke, MD. He’s chief of nuclear medicine for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento and Roseville.
