According to a first-of-its-kind estimate by The Dallas Morning News, roughly 1,000 U.S. dental patients have died since 2010. That’s about one every other day. The newspaper’s seven-part series finds that state agencies charged with protecting the public often fail to take strong action against dangerous dentists. Even those who are disciplined can find it easy to keep working with little or no oversight.
Dallas Morning News Staff Writer Brooks Egerton joins Insight to talk about his investigation and his published findings.
