Considered by some one of the greatest living guitarists, Roland Dyens is known for his extraordinary capacity for improvisation. The classical guitarist draws on elements of folk music and jazz and his shows are often regarded as “transformative,” expanding audience members’ understanding of the guitar’s musical potential. The Sacramento Guitar Society brought Dyens to Sacramento in October of 2014 as a guest performer. While he was in the area he stopped by the Insight studio for a performance and a discussion about his music.
