If you’ve ever been to a wedding then you’ve heard Felix Mendelssohn’s concert overture for William Shakespeare’s famous comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Mendelssohn composed the concert overture more than 200 years after Shakespeare’s death, which includes the ever-familiar—and world famous--Wedding March.

On Saturday, the Stockton Symphony is performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream while actors from University of the Pacific’s Conservatory bring Shakespeare’s tale to life. Stockton Symphony Music Director Peter Jaffe is conducting the concert and joins Insight to talk about uniting Shakespeare and Mendelssohn into one show.
